Tomorrow I'm going to Moorea island and visit hotels located there. I will be host at the Beachcomber. So you'll soon hear me with comments. I hope to get a great vacation there.

Every sunday morning many people are going to the Papeete Market to buy fishes, vegetables, salads.... Rich in colours, the market is great to visit if you plan your vacation to Tahiti but you must get there earlier (6:00 am) after 8:00 there are less products as all are quickly sold.

Lots of coconut, you can drink the coconut water after you breat it shell on top, then eat the coconut white fruit or squeeze to make coconut milk. On the background of the picture you can see "taro" red colours.

Ok, here is a typical local style sunday breakfast: roasted and smoked pork (see picture of man slicing the roasted pork) with french bread, "firifiri" kind of donuts, "Poisson cru au lait de coco" Raw fish with coconut milk, fried fish, and coffee.

The Traditional Tahitian food is named "Ma'a Tahiti" as you see on this picture, "Fei" kind of banana, "Taro" kind of potato, "Uru", "Poe"... all are eaten with coconut milk. But the real "Ma'a Tahiti is not sold on the market but cook in a traditional way underneath of the ground with heated rocks and covered by banana leaves. And the roasted pig is cook that way too. Many hotels restaurants offers the Ma'a Tahiti on Sunday afternoon.

Papeete market is the perfect place to find all kind of fresh lagoon fishes, you can also find pieces of tuna famous here for making "raw fish" meal. Slice some pieces of tuna (like japanese sashimi), add tahiti green lemon juice, onion, salt, salad , tomatoes and mix it all then add a little of coconut milk. Delicious.

Huum, the Tatoosh is in Tahiti over a month now and I think he is leaving Tahiti (Paul allen tahiti vacations ended). As you see on this picture taken at 6:00 am this morning, crews are preparing the yacht for a cruise.

Early this morning I went to see how the Tatoosh was going on? :-) and he's Ok, Paul Allen private jet (see it in my Album Photo) left Tahiti and the Tatoosh yacht is now ready to leave French Polynesia.
